Larry Baer’s Uncut Interview: The SF Giants CEO

Among the best sport’ leaders, Larry Baer is regarded to be quite visionary. Larry attended both Harvard Business College and UC Berkeley and on finishing, he ventured into the media business for both CBS and Westinghouse Broadcasting before advancing to the Major League Baseball. Larry Baer hails from San Francisco and began operations at the Giants as early as in the 1990s.

That time, Larry assembled an ownership group that ensured the team did not leave San Francisco. Larry Baer was appointed as the team’s CEO in 2012. In the first year at the helm of the Giants, the Giants CEO won a World Series Championship for the second time in just three attempts. In 2014, the SF Giants advanced the winning mentality by winning another prestigious title.

He supervised the Oracle Park construction, a ballpark hailed as the best ever by the fans. The Oracle Park was launched in 2000, and since then it has gained a lot of acclamation to the point of getting the best sports facility award in 2008. Larry also chairs the Giants Development Services, and the branch is developing a specialized neighborhood across Oracle Park.

When the project is done, it will have about 1,500 residential units, offices, restaurants, amenities, retail, open space, and parks. The SF Giants CEO has also been in many sports boards, and this has earned him titles and major honors. Being an alumnus of Harvard Business Faculty, he got an award in 2012. A couple of years later, the UC Berkeley gave him an achievement award.
